Pass the "cheese" please.
Bay & I are a good team at being up to date with research. She is an excellent researcher. Bay has recently found out that irish moss found in vegan cheese is not good for you. A lot of people are allergic to irish moss and it can cause inflammation in the stomach lining.
Also we found out that most cheese has casein in it as read in the article, "Dr. Jenna Taylor: Addiction to Cheese is Real Thanks to Casomorphins." With that said please research what you are putting in your body. A good rule of thumb we have used is if we can't understand or pronounce the ingredients, we shouldn't be putting it in our body.
We found tons of awesome links or recipes of how to make raw vegan cheese. I can't wait until Bay & I make some. Some of my favorites would be: This Raw Some Vegan Life, Raw on $10 a Day (or less) or Rawmazing. WE LOVE CHEESE!! I can't wait to get a cheese cloth. Out of all of the links we found this one is pretty simple: Easy Vegan Cashew Cheese - Recipe

Local Farm Produce Bin.
I love going to the local farmers market, Krugers Farm, with my twine produce bag and picking up some fresh produce. I want cheap, local, organic produce brought to me. I'm know Bay & I will still pick up a few items from the market, but I want to majority of my food brought to me.
I remember a few years back picking up a produce bin from a local farm every Wednesday. I really liked the connivence of getting produce every week from one place. However, shelling out $300 up front for three months worth of produce was a lot of money.
I found an awesome organization called Organics to You in Portland, Oregon. You can pick out what ever you want in a bin as well as size. Give them your address and they send organic produce to your house! Their is no contract for it either. You can set up if you want it every week, month, year, etc. For two people it only costs $33 for a week of produce. That's way cheaper than going to different stores.
I can't wait until Bay and I live together to get the bins!! xo.

Agave Nectar Good or Bad?
We decided today to go through all of the cupboards for anything that was lingering such as chemicals/dairy/meat/sugar. We found that almost everything had sugar in it, even canned vegetables! I've had multiple conversations with friends about how much sugar in added to products without us knowing. We still eat natural sugars that are found in fruits in vegetables. Instead of sugar, we have added raw organic honey, local maple syrup or vanilla bean to any recipe that asks for agave or sugar. Bay and I have never used agave in our cooking.
Right now Agave is all the rage. It is everywhere and in everything. The sad thing is people think it is good for you. Unless you are the Aztec's, in the wild, and burn the leafs to make the agave syrup, it's not organic with all of the added chemicals and processing, as read in the article, Agave Nectar: Good or Bad?

Hello. Hello. Hello. The two of us are eating garlic and honey. The garlic and honey has been marinating for weeks. This will help boost your immune system. The two of us are going to eat it. Are you ready? One. Three. One. Two. Three. Huh. It's not bad. What do you think? It's not bad. The garlic is really strong. Woah, it's really spicy. Oh it burns! Keepin' it natural.
To replace our chemical based products we went to Alberta Coop. We got Desert Essence Tooth Paste, Oregon Soap (Company), and Miracle Mouth Wash. The soap feel silky smooth and doesn't make our skin itchy like normal soaps. Warning: the Miracle Mouth Wash is intense. You may have to add some normal water to dilute it. It works wonders though. The Dessert Essence Tooth Paste is very mild in flavor. I like it because it counter acts the flavor of the mouth wash. Oh I also got new deodorant too called Alba Botanica. It doesn't keep you from sweating. However it keeps the body oder away. Plus sweating is natural. It's our body's way of cooling down.
I personally got rid of my underwear and tampons that weren't 100% organic, unbleached cotton. I got my underwear from PACT. I know they are expensive but a happy vag is a happy Kim. Plus they are made in the USA and provide support in non profit organizations.

What I Love About My Cat. #2
I will take the fall for him, every once in a while in the bath tub.
I feel as though I have been apart of a cartoon and my ass/head is definitely going to bruise.

Homemade Vegan Sushi.
Jan. 21:
We bought a new rice cooker and tried out our mandoline too. This was amazing. It was our first time making sushi and we made it together. xo

Tonight's dinner: homemade vegan sushi!! — with Kimberly Wohlsein.
We used for the sushi filling the following vegetables: purple kale, radish, cucumber, zucchini mixed colored carrots, avocado, broccoli shoots, mushrooms, & purple cabbage. We also used black, salsa, cashew sour cream for our too, burrito sushi.
all homemade vegan/raw sushi sauces. sweet and sour (top left), blood orange tamari (top right), and spicy un-mayo (bottom left). — with Kimberly Wohlsein.
This is for my lunch tomorrow. I am so excited. Swkeeee!

Organic Homemade Body Butter.
My organic, homemade, orange and lavender, body butter. I found this recipe at Rawmazing.
I didn't realize that I need an blender so I used a whisk instead, not recommended. lol. I was extremely hard to whisk together. Luckily, I had Bay Bay to help me with gun power.
This whole process took an hour, including putting the shea butter in the freezer. Organic raw shea butter was a challenge to find. We found it at our local shop in S.E. Portland called People's coop.
I'm so proud of myself. Their are so many nasty chemicals that are put into our lotion, shampoos, conditioners, packaged, food, etc. Since my body is super sensitive and I have gotten rid of almost all of the chemical based products in my studio. I'm sure their is something lingering.
Try this out! You'll be surprised at how easy it was, promise.

Why Are We Craving Junk Food?
Saturday, January, 19thI have noticed that I don't get tired after I eat my food, nor does my stomach get upset as much. I think it's because I am eating more Plant Based foods. I found this realistic picture of what it stomach looks like (image left) on Get Fit Faster. They have really cool motivational quotes, recipes, and pictures to work. it. out.
I researched the picture above to see where it brought me and Annie Jaffrey explains wonderfully why people are addicted to bad food and what to do about it. Another interesting snapshot of what we eat is image left. Crazy right?! This explains why we our body keeps telling us we are hungry after eating junk food, even though we've eaten a full meal. In return, we gain weight to over consummate the lack of nutrition. Bay and I have also watched some very informative documentaries on Netflix. We have watched the documentaries: "Fork over Knives" and "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead," and "No Impact Man." We were blown away by the brainwashing by the FDA. The FDA is controlled by the government. They are the ones who do the studies of what is "safe" for us. Unfortunately, the people who are on the FDA board are the owners of huge corporations in dairy and meat products. Have you noticed all of the advertisements are primarily dairy and meat?
They also showed studies of GMO's, meat, dairy and how they are link to cancer as well as our nations history. Their are so many stories of how people stop taking medication by changing what they consume while adding an exercise routine.
The movie "No Impact Man" showed how him and his wife had no carbon foot print for a year in New York. I really want to make a food compost in my house like he did. The majority of my food products are scraps from fruits and vegetables. This means less garbage, less waste, and less impact on our environment. Cool!

What I Love About My Cat. #1
He is extremely intelligent. He walked over to my heat blanket and starred at it for some time. He scratched it and then looked at me. I turned the heat blanket on and plopped down.
